Scribe acquires title on women of ISIS

Scribe has acquired UK & Commonwealth rights in The Guest House for Young Widows: the women of ISIS, by journalist, writer, and academic Azadeh Moaveni.

Scribe’s publisher, Henry Rosenbloom, describes the book as, ‘A major title. It’s an extraordinary and very surprising work — an intimate, riveting, deeply reported account of the women who made an apparently unthinkable decision: to leave behind their modern lives and move a world away to the backwards violence of the Islamic State.’

The book is already being compared to the prize-winning bestseller Behind the Beautiful Forevers, by Katherine Boo, which Scribe also published.

Scribe acquired the rights at auction from PRH US, and will publish the title in ANZ and the UK in October.
