Scribe has acquired world English-language rights in the million-copy bestseller The Diet Compass: the 12-step guide to science-based nutrition for a healthier and longer life.
Scribe’s publisher, Henry Rosenbloom, said, ‘This is a remarkable and important work, combining memoir and pathfinding popular health in a way that reminds me of Gut by Giulia Enders.
‘After collapsing with chest pains when he was only 40, the author, German science journalist and science graduate Bas Kast, embarked on a multi-year quest to investigate the latest worldwide research into ageing and nutrition. The result is an ultra-reliable nutrition compass, comprising 12 proven ways to establish a healthy diet and decrease the risk of acquiring common diseases.’
Scribe acquired rights in The Diet Compass from Random House Germany, which has sold rights in it in 20 other territories. Scribe commissioned David Shaw to carry out the English translation. Scribe will publish the title in July in Australia and New Zealand, and in January 2021 in the UK and North America.
