Gerbrand Bakker shortlisted for the 2014 IMPAC prize

Congratulations to Gerbrand Bakker, whose novel The Detour has been shortlisted for the 2014 IMPAC prize. The Dutch novelist is a former winner of the prize: in 2010, for The Twin.

The IMPAC prize is one of the richest literary prizes, with prize money of â‚¬100,000. Books are nominated by public libraries in cities throughout the world â€“ making the Award unique in its coverage of international fiction. You can see the full shortlist here. The winner will be announced on 12 June.
