The Australian Crime Writers Association have announced the shortlists for the 2016 Ned Kelly Awards for the best in Australian crime writing.
Three Scribe authors have made the shortlist. In the Best True Crime category, Martin McKenzie-Murray has been included for his unique mix of police procedural, memoir, and meditation on suffering, A Murder Without Motive: the killing of Rebecca Ryle.
J.M. Green and Tania Chandler have again been recognised after yesterday’s inclusion in the Davitt Awards shortlist. Green’s Good Money and Chandler’s Please Don’t Leave Me Here made the Best First Fiction category for the Ned Kelly Awards. Both are releasing follow up books: Dead in the Water by Chandler, released in October this year, and J.M. Green’s Too Easy will be out mid next year.
Congratulations to all three authors. The awards will be presented during the Melbourne Writers Festival at a free event on Sunday August 28 at the Toff In Town. Event info can be found here.
