Simon Hughes, books editor of The Australian Financial Review Magazine, has lauded Scribe in the summer 2007 issue. Citing The Low Road by Chris Womersley as the year’s best book (‘A stunning debut’ novel ), he also includes The Tears of Autumn by Charles McCarry and Deer Hunting with Jesus by Joe Bageant in his top 20 books of the year.
