Make Cakes Not War

Judy Horacek

'Here is a fun Christmas gift designed to bring a smile to frazzled faces during the silly-season hiatus ... Love it.'

Susan Kurosawa (Weekend Australian)

Make Cakes Not War is 'filled with Horacek's signature silliness — whimsical thoughts, plays on words, puns, jokes and, as the title suggests, subtle and occasionally overt, social commentary ... A witty take on life's anxieties, superheroes, love and the animal kingdom.'

'A witty take on the world', Andrée Stephens (Canberra Times)

'Make Cakes Not War is a delectably sweet morsel worth sampling.'

(Insights)

Let the inimitable Judy Horacek take you on a hilarious journey through the tiny tragedies, the daily miracles, and the bewildering absurdities of the contemporary world in this wonderful collection.

From the pertinent and profound to the silly and surreal, Make Cakes Not War is filled with witty, instantly recognisable pictures of our anxieties, our excesses, and our experiences with talking animals.

'this best of Judy Horacek will keep you laughing all the way through ... In a word: Hilarious.'

Mary Vernon (Townsville Bulletin)

'Cartoons offer an opportunity to lighten life's burdens or simply to play. This book does both. Horacek manifests her whimsy, angst and wry observations in her seemingly simple drawing.'

Kevin Kearney (Sun Herald)
